Nutri
See it. Eat it. Scan it.
Wellness, Nutrition, and Menus.
WHY
When you get to a restaurant, you rarely know what you’re going to order straight away. You’re deciding between these two plates. But you kind of don’t know what this plate looks like. And you certainly don’t know how much food is going to come. Are you that hungry? What about all the calories? Does it contain anything that you’re allergic to?
These are the reasons I thought of Nutri.
I developed this project during my time at Ironhack Miami. We were required to develop a mobile application that had some relation to the National Wellness Institute’s (NWI) Six Dimensions of Wellness. I chose physical wellness and decided to focus on nutrition.
Nutri offers detailed information about different diets to help users attain their health goals. Additionally, partnering restaurants can use the Nutri platform to upload their menus. When people scan the QR at the restaurant, it opens an interactive menu where plate’s nutritional value as well as an augmented reality depiction of the plate is shown. This way users can make more conscious decisions when ordering food. Users are also encouraged to upload scans of their dishes in order to keep track of health habits within the app. Payments can also be issued directly within the app to ease the process of checking out at restaurants.
