Project Overview
The primary goal of developing this web platform was to streamline SOC and PCI audits. It aimed to improve efficiency in communication between clients and consultants, reduce time spent on menial tasks, provide a centralized location for document uploads, and track progress effectively.
User Research
User research played a pivotal role in shaping the development of our web platform for SOC and PCI audits. In addition to maintaining ongoing contact with both consultants and clients, we conducted in-depth interviews to gain a comprehensive understanding of their needs and pain points.
Through these interviews, it became evident that the primary pain point was the significant delay and time wasted in using email for back-and-forth communication. Clients and consultants often found themselves caught in lengthy email chains, leading to frustration and inefficiency. Moreover, the risk of wrongful interpretation of instructions in these email exchanges further exacerbated the problem, prolonging the audit process unnecessarily.
These insights were invaluable in guiding our UX design process, underscoring the urgency of developing a platform that would not only streamline communication but also ensure clarity and precision in interactions between clients and consultants.

The UX design process followed a typical path: research, ideation, wireframing, prototyping, testing, and development in iterative sprints.

In conclusion, our journey to enhance SOC and PCI audits through the development of this web platform has been a resounding success. We successfully designed, developed, and deployed this platform into production, ushering in a new era of efficiency and productivity in the audit process.
On the technical front, the backend and REST API were crafted using Python and Flask, ensuring a robust yet scalable foundation for our platform. On the frontend, we harnessed the power of Svelte and Tailwind CSS to create a visually appealing and responsive user interface that resonated with our users.
And we noticed the impact of our efforts. The platform not only streamlined communication between clients and consultants but also paved the way for the development of automation scripts. This automation not only reduced manual labor but also enhanced data accuracy, ultimately expediting the audit process and elevating its overall quality.
Our dedication to user-centric design, informed by extensive research and usability testing, paid off with measurable results. Time savings were substantial, with approximately 5 hours per audit reclaimed from the previously time-consuming email communication. Furthermore, errors stemming from the wrongful interpretation of instructions were drastically reduced, leading to smoother audits and higher client satisfaction.
